CommitteesTrade ShowThe Trade Show Committee is busily planning this year’s event, scheduled for Tuesday, September 14th at the Overland Park Convention Center . The theme this year will be "At the Movies" Vendors who would like to reserve a booth can do so at anytime. The cost is $375.00 for the inner ring, $425 for the outer ring and $500 for premium locations by entrances, bar and food service areas. There will be charge of $35 for electricity. Booth setup is at 11:00 a.m. day of show. Booths must be setup by 2:30 p.m. Show hours will be 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Once Again - Attendance to the show is FREE for any and all apartment professionals. No vendors are allowed to attend the trade show unless they have a paid booth. The next committee meeting is scheduled for March 24th at 3: 00 p.m. at the AAKC office. Watch for more details. If you are interested in assisting the committee’s efforts to bring these education events to our association, contact the AAKC office or Robynn Haydock . The Certified Apartment Professional Supervisor (CAPS) the new program will start in February 12th with Risk Management at 9:00 a.m. and will go to 5:00 p.m. Cost is $150.00 for members. $300.00 for non-members National Apartment Leasing Professional course is also starting in February and CAM will start in March. The PR Committee hasn't scheduled a new meeting but we will announce the date as soon as they set a date. We are going to be doing a collection of keys for Ronald McDonald. If you would like to join our group and collect keys for Ronald McDonald, call the AAKC office and ask for the information fliers. Several of our committee members will be visiting the Ronald McDonald House on February 8th to do crafts and serve refreshments to the children there. This is a great activity for AAKC and very rewarded for the members that participate. To se the faces of these children light up, makes your life more meaningful. Come and join the PR committee. We are also teaming up with "Dress for Success" in 2010. More information to follow on this new exciting event.
