We are seeking a dedicated and thorough Roving Maintenance Apprentice who is eager to master the intricacies of property maintenance and contribute to a well-kept and safe community. What You'll Do: As a Roving Maintenance Apprentice, you will be instrumental in upholding our high standards of property maintenance across various communities. Your responsibilities will include: Executing preventative maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and optimal performance of all equipment and systems. Performing scheduled maintenance based on manufacturer recommendations and operating manuals. Diligently completing service requests and repairs, ensuring thoroughness and promptness. Assisting with meticulous record-keeping for maintenance logs, including snow removal, pool maintenance, light audits, preventative maintenance, and freon. Monitoring and maintaining inventory levels of equipment, tools, parts, and supplies to ensure appropriate stock. Conducting inspections of grounds, buildings, and other community features to proactively identify and minimize liability concerns. Maintaining a consistently organized, clean, and safe work area. Assisting with the daily cleanup of community exteriors, including grounds, breezeways, office, model units, and common areas. Performing swimming pool maintenance and cleaning, meticulously maintaining accurate and timely chemical logs. Adhering strictly to all company policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), as well as safety and hazard communication programs. Responding to on-call and snow removal duties once trained and on the property. Learning and growing within the role, with the ultimate goal of fulfilling a Maintenance Technician position upon program completion. Physical Demands & Work Environment: This role involves frequent standing, walking, and utilizing hand and finger dexterity. You will occasionally be exposed to various weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions, and potentially extreme heat or cold (non-weather). The ability to lift and/or move more than 75 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 25 pounds continually is required. Why Join Worcester Communities? Educational Requirements:*
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Qualified Skills
A valid driver's license and current automobile insurance are essential, as you will need to furnish a reliable vehicle for job functions. Ideally, you will have at least one year of apartment maintenance experience. Two years of HVAC experience is preferred. Preferred certifications include Type I and II or Universal EPA, and CPO. Worcester Communities is dedicated to supporting team members in obtaining these certifications within 12 months of hire if not already possessed. Possession of basic hand tools is necessary (not provided by the community). Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Business Suite, and Entrata Property management software is required. A strong ability to read and interpret technical documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. An unwavering commitment to safety, ensuring all equipment is used without jeopardizing the safety of yourself, colleagues, and residents. The ability to work scheduled hours consistently and overtime when necessary due to property staffing limitations.
