Quick History:
Quill has never had a physical store. While most businesses in 1956 operated brick-and-mortar locations, our founder, Jack Miller, believed customers didn’t need to visit a store—they needed their supplies delivered directly to them. In the beginning, this meant Jack personally walking door-to-door to take orders, then packing and shipping them himself at night to ensure customers received their products within two business days.
By the 1970s, Quill had transformed into a pioneering mail-order business, delivering office supplies across the United States. The rise of technology led to the creation of Quill.com in 1998, further revolutionizing how we serve customers. Today, the shipping infrastructure built over 60 years ago still supports our commitment to providing next-day delivery to qualifying locations.
